How to choose a heat transfer laser printer
White toner is what makes it a transfer printer. A heat transfer laser printer prints CMYK and white in one pass, so a transfer can carry white text and graphics onto dark garments and hard surfaces. Every UNINET IColor transfer printer here ships with five all-in-one toner and drum cartridges (CMYW plus True Black) and IColor ProRIP software, which sets white as an overprint for textiles or an underprint for colored paper. The same printers print regular CMYK transfers for white and pastel apparel and accept fluorescent, clear, dye sublimation and gold and silver specialty toner.
IColor 560 for the desktop. The IColor 560 prints 2400 dpi from a 7,000-page white toner cartridge and bundles ProRIP and SmartCUT, which tiles artwork larger than its 8.5 x 14 in page. Buy the printer alone or in Starter, Plus, Pro, Mug Press and Plus with Geo Knight DK14S heat press packages.
IColor 650 for tabloid. The IColor 650 is a tabloid and A3 LED laser printer with duplexing, Wi-Fi, AirPrint and NFC, sold alone or in Starter, Plus, Pro, Mug Press and Premium packages; Premium adds the SilverBolt 1620SA swing-arm heat press with a digital pressure display. A clearance IColor 650 carries a 90-day depot warranty.
IColor 800W for volume. The IColor 800W prints up to 45 pages per minute at 1200 x 1200 dpi on Tabloid XL pages, with toner yields of 35,000 pages CMY and 25,000 pages white at 5 percent coverage and a one-year warranty.
IColor 350 for sublimation. The IColor 350 is a toner-based dye sublimation printer for white and pastel polyester and polymer-coated blanks: up to 25 pages per minute on standard copy paper, with no heads, nozzles or ink bottles to maintain. Sublimation toner is sold separately.
Toner, paper and software. Replacement toner and drums are stocked for the IColor 350, 500, 550, 600 and 650. Laser transfer paper covers 1-step paper for light garments, 2-step A foil and B adhesive paper for dark garments, and hard surface papers. What is a white toner heat transfer printer?
A laser or LED printer that runs a white toner cartridge alongside CMYK. Printing white under or over the color lets a transfer show on dark garments and on hard surfaces such as ceramic, glass, wood, acrylic, metal and leather. UNINET IColor printers do this in a single pass with the bundled ProRIP software, and the same machine prints regular CMYK transfers for white and pastel apparel.
IColor 560 or IColor 650: which one should I buy?
The IColor 560 is the desktop model: an 8.5 x 14 in maximum page, 2400 dpi output and a 7,000-page white toner cartridge, with SmartCUT software to tile larger designs. The IColor 650 prints tabloid and A3 pages in one piece and adds duplexing for non-transfer printing. Both ship with five toner and drum cartridges and ProRIP, and both come in Starter, Plus, Pro and Mug Press packages.
Do I need a heat press with a laser transfer printer?
Yes. The printer makes the transfer and a heat press applies it to the garment or blank. The IColor 560 Plus with Geo Knight DK14S package and the IColor 650 Premium package include a heat press, and the 560 and 650 Mug Press packages include a mug press. Stand-alone presses are in the heat presses collection.
What transfer paper do IColor printers use?
UNINET IColor 1-step transfer paper for light garments, 2-step A foil and B adhesive paper for dark garments and hard goods, Premium 1-step hard surface paper, AquaClear 1-step paper and 2-step temporary tattoo paper, in letter, legal, A4, A3 and 11 x 17 in sheets. Can I print a transfer bigger than the page size?
Yes. IColor SmartCUT splits an image into two or more tiles, with different algorithms for light and dark garments, and outputs PNG or multi-page PDF files that print through ProRIP or TransferRIP; the tiles are pressed one at a time. The IColor 650 prints tabloid and A3 pages, and the IColor 800W prints Tabloid XL pages up to 12.6 x 19 in.
Can an IColor printer do dye sublimation?
Yes. Dye sublimation toner and drum kits are sold for the IColor 500, 540/550, 600 and 650, so one printer can swap between white toner transfers and sublimation onto polyester textiles and coated ceramic, metal and acrylic blanks. The IColor 350 is a dedicated toner sublimation printer that prints on standard copy paper at up to 25 pages per minute.
How do I learn to run a white toner printer?
