Tax Exemption

We are required by law to collect sales taxes in 43 states. If you're a sales tax exempt customer in your state, you may upload tax exemption documents using the steps below.

  • Create a customer account on the SignWarehouse website.
  • Note what state you are operating in.
  • Have your sales tax exemption certificate number from your state ready.
  • Confirm that the name on your Sales Tax Certificate matches the SignWarehouse account name.

Please note, if your SignWarehouse account name is Joe's Signs & Graphics and your state sales tax certificate says Joseph's Enterprises, your exemption certificate will not be approved. The names must match. This is not our rule; it is your state's rule. 

Click on the Submit Certificates button (below) to start the process to generate a tax exemption certificate using your customer information.

Once you submit your exemption document(s) and they are approved you will be able to purchase products exempt from sales tax.

  • It can take 3-5 business days, or longer, to process and approve your sales tax exemption.
  • Incorrect or mis-matched information can delay the process.
  • If your document expires or is determined to be invalid at a later date, we may invoice you to collect back sales tax and reach out to you offline to address any issues.
