When it is placed between the image and the platen, it prevents the ink on your transfer from ending up on your heat press. Follow the instructions for your heat transfer paper for application.
It is reusable and can last for years and years! This teflon sheet can also be used for protection of the bottom heat platen during sublimation or anytime there may be bleeding around your image and help prevent the ghosting effect often created by the paper sliding across the shirt during the lifting of the platen. It can also be used as a weight, keeping the transfer paper in place to ensure perfect results!
