This Tip from Techs is specifically written for working with 24' MUTOH Printers. You can perform a pinch roller fix or basic setup with the following instructions.
(MUTOH's latest firmware update is very proactive about this issue. It will show a warning sign on the MSM control panel and flash the error light on the top of the printer if the pinch rollers aren't properly positioned This warning is designed to prevent people from making a mistake that can result in frustrating downtimes.)Â Â
Don't rush through the steps! Pinch rollers can get damaged if there are not positioned correctly.

Pinch Roller Fix: Loading MediaÂ
Make sure the media is straight and not crooked or skewed in any way.Â
The pinch roller and media are on the protruding part of the grit roller.

The black labels on the Y rail indicate the position of protruding part of the grit roller. Please use this as a guide.
Â

Position the pinch roller so that the distance between the edge of the media and the edge of the rubber of the pinch roller is approximately 4 mm.Â
Â
Â
NOTE: If the distance between the edge of the media and the edge of the rubber of the pinch roller is more than 4 mm, change the side margin.
Â

Make sure the rubber part of the pinch roller does not go beyond the media.
Pinch rollers can get damaged if media is fed while the pinch rollers contact the protruding part of the grit roller.
Â
If the pinch roller is not positioned properly against media or protruding part of the grit roller, the red LED on the control panel blinks. If the red LED blinks, set the pinch roller into the correct position again.Â
