Since text makes up a large portion of the content of signage, choosing the right font can make your signs and graphics stand out. Sometimes the right font for the job at hand isn’t at hand. Fortunately, SIGNWarehouse offers an extensive fonts and clip art library accessible to any LXI software customer. The fonts are TrueType fonts. This means that once they’re installed, they are accessible in any Windows graphic design or word processing application. Here’s how to download and install LXI fonts from our support blog and import them into LXI26.
Download and Install LXI Fonts
Click here to download the LXI Fonts and Clip Art Libraries. Then browse to the location of the zipped folder. Open the folder and double-click the LXI Font Installer application. You may see a “Windows protected your PC” message advising against opening the file. Click the More info link and - from the expanded window - click the Run anyway button to launch the installer. When the installer is finished, it will prompt you to restart Windows.
Note: If you download and install these before installing LXI26, you can opt to install all of these fonts during the LXI26 installation. If you’ve already installed LXI26, and now want to add the fonts from the LXI Fonts library, follow the steps below.
Browse the new Font Library
In addition to the LXI Font installer, you will find a helpful resource in the FLEXI-LXI fonts folder. There is a PDF Font Booklet that lists and previews all 516 of the included fonts. Use this to browse to the ones you need for your design. If you find a particular font you want to add to LXI26, note the name of the font. Then open Windows Explorer.
Click the Windows (C:) drive, then find the Windows folder. Click the arrow to expand the Windows folder. Then find the Fonts folder. This is the location of the newly installed fonts. You can browse the folder and compare it with the Font booklet to verify that the new fonts you want are now available.
Install Fonts in LXI26
- Open your LXI26 design application.
- Place your text on the screen.
- Then click to select it, and sweep select to highlight the characters. You can check the existing LXI 26 font library, and use the interactive preview to scroll through the installed fonts. If you don’t find the newly installed LXI font you need, click away from the text to deselect it.
- Then select File.
- From the File drop-down menu, select Install Fonts. In the Install Fonts window, you can browse your PC to find fonts to install in LXI26.
- Click the browse button to navigate to the Windows fonts folder.
- Click OK to open and search the fonts folder.
- Select the font - or fonts - you wish to use and click Install. If you want to select all of them, click Select All. Then click Install.
- Then click OK and Close the Install fonts window.
Now you can re-select the text and scroll down to find and apply the newly installed font.
