Our PrismJET line of inkjet media includes solvent printable vinyl, banner material, wall fabric, roll-up media, and specialty overlaminates. The newest addition to the lineup is designed to meet the needs of today’s print service providers and sign makers. It’s PrismJET 100 series laminating film. Why did we add it, and how can it enhance your products and add to your success?

Why laminate your solvent or eco-solvent prints?

But don’t today’s eco-solvent printers resist UV fade for up to three years outdoors, without lamination? Yes, but the sun isn’t the only adversary. As sign makers gain more experience with selling and installing eco solvent prints, they've come to realize that selling un-laminated graphics endangers their reputation. Prints in the real world get abused by more than UV radiation. Dust, dirt, grime, fingerprints, and detergents can all rob your newly installed print of life and luster. PrismJET 100 series overlaminate films offer an affordable way to preserve the finish of your prints, and keep your reputation as a top notch print service provider.

Why use PrismJET 100? What features & benefits does it offer?

PrismJET 100 calendered overlaminates offer important features and benefits at an attractive price. These are three mil calendered films with an optically clear permanent acrylic adhesive on a smooth paper liner. The optically clear adhesive and smooth liner provide outstanding clarity and vibrancy to better showcase your prints. The UV inhibitors give an extra year of outdoor life, boosting the service life to four years for eco-solvent and Latex ink prints and six years for images printed with full solvent inks or thermal resin printers. We offer three finishes with gloss ratings ranging from 15 to 80.

Other or Uses for PrismJET 100

Speaking of gloss, one of the increasingly popular applications for overlaminate film involves custom finishes. Call it reflection management. To keep the visual “pop” of your glossy print, laminate with PrismJET 100. If your customer prefers a matte finish for glare reduction indoors, choose PrismJET 102 matte overlaminate. And for the Goldilocks customers who want something “just right”, cover with PrismJET 101 lustre overlaminate. (image idea; laminate one print with different grades of film to show difference in gloss level)

PrismJET 100: Sizes, finishes, and how to buy

Since the most common size for cold laminators used to apply these films is 55”, we’ve introduced the products in 54” x 50 yard rolls. That simplifies your choices. To simplify it further, we’ve kept them all at the same low price. So you can order PrismJet 100 gloss, 101 lustre, or 102 matte overlaminate in 54” x 50 yard rolls for only $148.00 or 22¢/square foot. Click here for more detailed product information. The most successful printers and sign makers understand the value of a well finished print. Skimping on professional finishing processes can result in damage from abrasion, detergents, and good old UV radiation. Always suggest laminates to keep your customer’s graphics looking new and bright. Or new and not so bright if they want something in a matte or lustre look.
