Applications
ClearMASK heat transfer tapes are suitable for the thermal transfer of digitally printed and contour-cut textile transfers made using Logical Color and similar printable heat transfer films. ClearMASK makes transferring contour-cut prints easy. The adhesive is engineered to be fully compatible with Logical Color printable face films and supported inks. All ClearMASK products are polyester foils coated with special high temperature, heat-resistant adhesives. ClearMASK comes in low and medium tack levels. ClearMASK LT is low-tack, and ClearMASK MT is a medium-tack tape.

ClearMASK Troubleshooting Tips
Problem: When I remove ClearMASK after pressing, it pulls the vinyl up with it.
Causes & Solutions: If this is happening, you could be using a higher-tack transfer tape than necessary. As seen in Fig 1, the graphic was printed on WarmPEEL PRINT, but masked with ClearMASK MT. The mismatch in the desired tack level caused an issue with the transfer. Logical Color WarmPEEL PRINT is more compatible with ClearMASK LT, a low-tack tape.
This can also be caused by leaving the ClearMASK on the HTV and garment too long after the press cycle is complete.
The tape should be removed warm to prevent excessive adhesive build between the tape and film.
Problem: The printed film isn't transferring to the tape from its release liner.
Cause & Solution: There are two possible causes: the tape's tack level is too low for the printed HTV, or the tape the ClearMASK wasn't properly applied to the print.
Solution 1: The image on the right is printed on Logical Color Universal PRINT with ClearMASK LT. This printable film requires a medium or high-tack transfer tape.
Solution 2: When applying the mask to the printed graphic, use a squeegee. Apply the tape with firm pressure, using smooth strokes to prevent bubbles and creases. If you still have difficulty transferring the print to the tape, flip it over and use the squeegee from the release liner, pressing the printed film down into the transfer tape.
Applications:
- Suitable for use with most digitally printable heat transfer films for transfer onto cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, Lycra, Nylon and similar fabrics.
Application Instructions:
- Design image right reading. Contour-cut with 45° blade and weed away excess film.
- Cut off an appropriately sized section of Poli-Tack and remove the silicon paper liner.
- Lay the Poli-Tack over print and apply smoothly with firm pressure and squeegee, taking care to avoid bubbles and wrinkles.
- Remove the PET release liner from the back of Poli-Flex printable film.
- Place tacky side down, 'right reading' on garment and press using recommended settings for the printable film being applied.
