This is actually me second knight heat press. I would consider myself more of using it as a hobby as most of my items are screen printed and only use the heatpress for names and numbers or single item orders. The first one worked for about 3 years before needing to replace the thermostat. After replacing I maybe only got another year before it started smoking. So I ordered a new one. This one has been used even less than the first and only lasted about the same amount of time. I just replaced the thermostat because the temperature would get extremely hot. The screws around the thermostat had rusted, and the electrical ends attached to it looked burnt. We finally got the thermostat replaced and now it is smoking so I immediately shut it back off. Prior to this I had to take it to a welder because the arm kept popping up and wouldn't put any pressure on the garment. So disappointed they don't last long under minor use for the price. I will never buy another knight press.
This worked great at first but the tiny little timer they stuck on top was the first to go. Actually it went a short time after purchase. No big deal, just bought another timer and used it. I'm not sure what is the problem now, but it doesn't heat right. It will stay at the right temp for awhile then take off and go all the way to 400 degrees. I will turn it off and go back in a few minutes to see if the temp has come down and it will have gone to 500 degrees. So I put some fans to blow on it to cool it back and try it again. Repeats the process. Totally inefficient. I only got 1 and half to two good years out of it while it worked well. Looking for another one now. Definitely will not buy the same brand. Good thing I only do this as a side job.
